I really indulged myself on the latest French General products. I have been waiting for them to come out for several months now. This collection is designed for papercrafting and has the look of treasures from an old notions counter. Kaari Meng has done such a clever job of packaging, and my vision is to leave most of it as it is and display it like it is part of my little general store! Some of us never grow up!
I especially was looking forward to getting the ribbons. I love this clever and vintage looking package! It reminds me of a pincushion in my collection.
I love these sticky backed faux metal embellishments. I bought two of these so that I could bear to use something from the collection! Aren’t I silly?
The cameos were another had-to-have. They have stickum on the back to easy application. These tags are wonderful because they have fabric faces that add a nice texture. I will use them for gifts and organizational labelling.
The lace is sticky back, so it is ready to embellish a journal or a label or tag…
These button cards are ingenious because they also fold up into littles books! Gush gush gush! These were pricey, but I thought that they were adorable. And each card is color specific. I got the turquoise, red, and pink. I feel so girly.
And I also envisioned these ready made collages as wall art. I backed them with recycled cardboard, added distress ink to the edges, and hung them with Tim Holtz bull clips.
For now they are hanging in my studio girls room by the mirror. I get such a happy, vintage French vibe from it all.
So thank you Kaari for making such a cheerful line of inspirations!
