I have enjoyed every part of hooking and finishing Seaweed and I wanted to show you how it looks finished. I made the executive decision to change my crochet edge color.
Here was how it was coming out with brown for the edges. It was looking kind of blah. The brown seemed to sadden the composition. So I pulled it all out and tried again with a muted green.
The green instantly looked better than the brown, perking the design up. What a difference the edging color can make.
Here are some close-ups so that you can see the finished hooking. I love the tiny bit of red in the bloom and in the veins of the leaves.
The background adds to the movement in the design with a floating-upward feeling.
Adding more green colors added something special to the design.
Two similar greens enhance the red center.
A very happy-to-hook background, with variety and movement.

the wool is mostly an 8 cut, some are 7 for outlines. thanks for your comment.

I’m a little sad that your Seaweed rug is done. I looked for your email first thing every morning. It is so special with your gorgeous colors of wool. I have learned so much and thank you for sharing your talent and creative knowledge. I look forward to a new adventure with you. I finished my Spiral mat and it hangs above a cupboard and Windsor chair. I love it.

linda and alice, for the moment is sits on a tabletop. i often don’t think of where i am going to put a piece. and i have never framed a hooked piece. i may decide to sell seaweed, i am not sure right now. it has been a fun project, so happy to share the process with you all.
