I just finished teaching an exceptional group of people in Phoenix. Hosting the workshop is Diane Eaton, who just is so welcoming with her positive attitude and giving spirit. One of her mantras is: share the love. And she does just that, as she has opened her home to a group of rug hooking enthusiasts from all over the continent to share in our mutual love of working with colorful wool. I was the lucky one to get to be the teacher!
Rug hooking frames are set up, and patterns stretched on them, as wool is furiously cut into strips and organized into piles of like color. Some are chosen to be flowers or houses or the shadows in the background. For 3 days we immerse ourselves in ideas such as value, temperature and technique. Everyone is so enthusiastic about hooking, with many moments of laughing, eating, admiring and/or buying wool, and sharing.
What a wonderful happy group of people to teach, I am so sad to say goodbye at the end of our time together. Thank you students! Truly, you make it all worthwhile.
Thanks for stopping by today. Make sure to take time to create something that pleases you ~ Karen
