This and that around the studio

Making my studio space organized and cozy has been keeping me busy lately. I have been rearranging my stuff, making some eye appeal.

A new find at the thrift store, this children’s tool box, needed a place to be admired.

I have been collecting fabric for slip covers. That pile was threatening to topple over, so I took some time folding and re-organizing it.

When will I get to that project? I don’t know but I will be more likely to with this display of tempting fabrics.

In the meantime, a simple solution is to toss one lovely piece over the chair.

A sale on thread and I am rich in all my favorite sewing colors.

I took the time to actually hang this Ikea curtain wire over the open closet in my workroom. I am featuring this vintage barkcloth. It is easy to change fabric for the curtains as it is clipped with little metal clothes pins.

I am still crocheting bags. I decided to take apart my first Lucy bag, and add a few more inches to the height.

My stash of colors is very low. Just what I wanted! But now I want to make more fun crochet things and need more yarn, so…

I ordered some cotton Dishie yarn from Knit Picks, and love the colors and quality!

My two favorite colors were Jalapeno and a turquoise color called Tranquil. I love green and these greens are just the perfect marriage of saturated and softened color. Almost vintage in their style. I especially love the turquoise as it looks so 50’s! What am I going to make? I needed a travel project for my recent trip home, so I chose a baby blanket in granny squares. I would like to share with you my progress, but I think the recipient might be reading my blog. Maybe I can let you peek at part of it in a future post.
