I am back home from a wonderful time in Ohio, teaching a rug hooking class with Alice Strebel. Let me share some photos with you. I know that you have been patiently waiting to see my Tipp City rug, since I only showed you a corner of it. It is in the slide show below.
Our 3 day class had the theme Welcome Home, and each student showed such enthusiasm for creating and hooking a design. Several even finished their rug in class. We had an inspiring time of crafting, enjoying delicious food, touching lots of colorful wool, seeing many beautiful rugs for show and tell, and being in the marvelous presence of the lovely, talented folks that attended. Our trunk show of Olive Rose folk art dolls was an added treat, as was the quaint ambience of Tipp City and its antique shops and good eateries. What a way to welcome Fall! I did not want it to end and to say goodbye to my friends, old and new. Now that I am home, I am filled with a fresh, new vision for rug hooking. And after I get all my big traveling messes put away, I shall dive into…. something!
Thanks for stopping by ~ Karen
Love the rugs/dolls and the wool. Looks like everyone was having a good time. Wish I would have been there. Thanks Karen!

Tripp City was indeed a blast. I also came home inspired. To be in the same room with so many talented kindred spirits (reference to Ali intended) just makes my soul sing. Thanks for sharing this part of yourself. It was an honor to meet you and finally connect name to a face.

Sounds wonderful!!! Its always great to get together with like minded ‘creators’ and to spend whole days just hooking – with no ‘daily duties’ to have to get done before you can begin *smile*. Lovely work!
