Now is the time to start thinking about holiday projects, so I wanted to repost this to inspire you. Choose a small project like this santa and have it ready to hang for the holidays! I have a large selection of instant downloadable patterns available in my Etsy shop. Many of them come in both a rug hooking size as well as a smaller punchneedle size. Purchase them today and print them out at home to start working on them right away. Check the patterns out by clicking here.
Oh and the pattern is also available printed out in color. This version will be mailed out to you. Find it by clicking here.
For the holidays I have a listing for my Wooly Santa PDF instant download on Etsy. This pattern set comes with 2 sizes: 12″ x 20″ for rug hooking, and 3″ x 5″ for punchneedle embroidery.
Santa and his favorite sheep friends are ready to help you get into the holiday mood. They are well aware that it has been unseasonably cold and even snowy and that you could use a bit of cheer.
Santa was inspired by vintage Christmas postcards as well as some chalkware Santas that I came across. I loved hooking him with faded tones of light red, deep night blues and snowy aquas. Even Santa can get cold, and he is paying tribute to his wooly friends who make his job more comfortable.
And my sentiments are exactly with him. Thank you wool bearers! You make my rug hooking and knitting and crocheting and spinning world go round! I surround myself with beautiful colors of wool fabrics, yarns and fibers to work with. There is nothing quite as soul satisfying as wool.
So I think I will grab some hot cocoa, a wool project, and sit by the fire to warm my toes — as well as my spirits.
Across the chilly miles, have a creative day ~ Karen
DANG, I have that rug patter and STILL haven’t hooked it. I still love it but is too late for this year as I’ve already got two rugs in progress.

Karen, I love this Santa from the first time you posted him. My printer is down and I am wondering if you could print this and mail it to me. I will give you my credit card. I don’t want to miss out on this Santa pattern. The colors and design are one of your very best. Millicent Churbuck, hooking in Iowa
